The NYDLC Finance Committee supports the work of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council by planning fundraising events, identifying prospective supporters, and raising the resources needed for NYDLC to protect the vote across the City and State of New York and in critical swing states and battlegrounds. 

2016 will be the first Presidential election in 50 years to take place without the full protections of the Voting Rights Act in effect. Those who care about voting rights and fighting voter suppression understand that without the pre-clearance provisions of the VRA, we are essentially playing defense. Can you help? NYDLC works closely with presidential, congressional, and state campaigns to identify key electoral priorities. Donors can maximize their impact this election season by sponsoring a bus of trained election monitors who will travel to battlegrounds to protect the vote on election day, sponsor a voter protection training for attorneys and law students, or help defray the costs for attorneys or law students to embed with congressional or state campaigns, where they will lead the effort to help protect the Democratic vote for that campaign.
